Kazakhstan Kagazy and The British Council announce the results of joint ‘Save the trees’ initiative

Almaty- Kazakhstan Kagazy and the British Council have awarded top prize (100,000 tenge) for the project on changing the local population’s attitude to waste paper collection developed by Oksana Beloglazova, Aliya Sagingalieva and Evgenia Pak out of 23 submissions.
Almaty- Kazakhstan Kagazy and the British Council have awarded top prize (100,000 tenge) for the project on changing the local population’s attitude to waste paper collection developed by Oksana Beloglazova, Aliya Sagingalieva and Evgenia Pak out of 23 submissions.
‘Save the trees’ contest was sponsored jointly by Kazakhstan Kagazy and the British Council with a goal of increasing the involvement of local population in the collection of waste paper in Almaty and promoting environmentally friendly and respectful attitude towards natural resources. In 2011, Kazakhstan Kagazy has launched an environmental protection program targeting a change in the local population approach to waste paper recycling.
The awards ceremony was attended by representatives of the British Council, Kazakhstan Kagazy, ‘Tabigat’ green party, WRAP (Waste Reduction Awards Program, Great Britain), an environmental organisation ‘Green salvation’, the British Embassy in Kazakhstan and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
