Chairman of the Board of Kazakhstan Kagazy JSC since November 2009.
 Born in 1966. Currently Managing Partner at Werner Capital. From 1992 to 2008 he held senior positions amongst others at Deutsche Bank, Merrill Lynch and HSBC in New York, Zurich, Frankfurt and London. He holds an MBA from Columbia Business School (USA) and London Business School (UK), a Master from the Hochschule St Gallen (Switzerland) and is a Graduate in Law from UIB (Spain).

Jeremy Polturak

Independent Director. 

The Managing Partner of NSO Petroleum a privately owned oil and gas company. He is also Principal Partner of Portico Advisors an FSA regulated alternative investment advisory firm. Between 1984 and 1997 Mr. Polturak held various positions at European Banking Company, Midland Montagu and latterly Bankers Trust where he was the head of Corporate Derivative FX and Fixed Income Sales.

Alexandr Valitov

Executive Director.

 Born in 1956. From 2007 to January 2008, Alexander Valitov served as First Deputy General Director of LLP “Kagazy Recycling». From 2005 to 2007, he was General Director of JSC “Kadamzhay Antimonial Plant” in the Kyrgyz Republic. From 2002 to 2004, Mr. Valitov served as Vice President of “ELM Developments Co”, Toronto, Canada. Education: Alexander Valitov holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bauman Moscow State Technical University.

Martin Quirke

Non-executive Director.

From 2006 to 2009 Martin Quirke was the CEO of Bakcell, a leading mobile operator in Azerbaijan. He has held several board, executive and operational roles in the telecommunication industry for Cable&Wireless, in Kazakhstan, Thailand, Vietnam, China and Russia. He served as the President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Kazakhstan from 2002 to 2006. From 2009 till now he has been Board Advisor to Bridge Connect Ltd, Kazakhstan.

John Khabbaz

Non-executive Director.

From 2004 till now John Khabbaz has been a Managing Director of Witter International, a New York based asset manager, and Fund Manager of the Phoenician Capital LLC, a Global Value Fund part of Witter Group of Funds. He was the Founder and CEO of International Cotton, a major manufacturer of private-label knitwear products. John holds an M.B.A. in Finance from Columbia Business School of New York, USA, and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University of Montreal, Canada.

Mukhtar Kunaev

Born in 1979
Mukhtar holds a Master Degree of Science in Petroleum economics and management from Ecole Nationale Superieure du Petrole Et Des Moteurs, France. Since 2004 Mukhtar held various position in JSC NC “KazMunaiGas” and since 2006 he has been Head of External Affairs of this company.
