Almaty, Kazakhstan – 14 October, 2008 – Kazakhstan Kagazy PLC (the “Group” or “Kagazy”) (LSE: KAG), one of Kazakhstan’s leading industrial groups, today announced that the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has disbursed a EUR 33 million loan to Kagazy’s subsidiary, Kagazy Recycling LLP, as per the loan agreement signed by both parties in May 2007. Two international banks took part in the loan syndication in the total amount of EUR 13 million. The proceeds of the loan will be used to finance the Group’s paper business.
